Just a spoonful of sugar

Helps the hiccups go away?????

For anyone else out there who finds the hiccups to be one of the more annoying naturally occuring phenomena, then you'd be happy to know there's a simple cure.

"Overloading the nerve endings in the mouth with a sweet sensation may do the trick. Have a teaspoonful of sugar, and if you can, place the sugar on the back of the tongue, where "sour" is tasted. This way, the sugar overload will pack the most punch."

Who knew that something so simple could have such sweet results. I tried this the other day when I got my weekly spasm of hiccups... and it worked! Now I just have to figure out how to work off the extra sugar.

Best of luck! KLD

Baileys, Umbrellas, and Shopping, oh my!

6:20 am 3/17/2011...
Shelly and Lindsey: "Kendra, remind us again why we are taking a 7:15am flight to San Francisco..??"
Kendra: "Because it's St. Patrick's Day and we need to be in an Irish Bar by 2pm...."

...and so the weekend began!!!

3 days, countless Irish Coffees, several "borrowed" wine glasses, a few bad taxi drivers and many memories later... our whirlwind trip lead us back to SFO. Our trip felt more like a 3 day San Francisco Pub Crawl than anything, but boy did we have a great time. Here are some of the things we learned about each other and life along the way...

-Kiki would rather go to the moon than go scuba diving....
-It is possible to get cut off at a "bottomless" mimosa brunch.
-If a cute guy with an Irish accent keeps pulling Bailey's out of his suit jacket... just keep accepting them!
-If you don't remember ordering dinner at the hotel bar, it didn't happen.
-If a man asks you to dance, do it. (I got in trouble for turning someone down).
-It's never ok to sleep at a bar, ever.
-Drunk shopping is WAY more fun, especially when everything is 60% off!
-Groupon doesn't always pick the hottest spot in town...
-The Pour House is not down the street from Jeremy's
-When it rains it pours, so drink up, be happy and move on!

Can't wait for our next trip... I'm thinking we need to go somewhere tropical next time.

Off to San Fran!

Tomorrow morning I'll be heading to San Francisco with my Mom, Lindsey and Shelly. I'm looking forward to a fun weekend of girl-time. This trip just so happens to fall on my most favorite holiday.... St. Patricks' Day! So we'll be flying in style in our green paraphernalia and ready to hit the Irish Pubs when we land. Pictures, stories, and memories from a great weekend to follow....

New Beginnings...

March has always been one of my favorite months. The year is in full force, the weather is becoming better and it has always been a good time for me to start fresh. Perhaps because I've never been a fan of New Year's Resolutions, or maybe because it's just that much closer to bathing suit season! I've moved out on my own and I'm ready to "start fresh" if you will. For the next few months here are the aspects I'll be focusing on.

1. Kendra Lee Dwyer- Doing what makes ME happy. :)
2. Running- 1/2 Marathon on 4/17 and another one on 6/5
3. Refocusing my energy at work.
4. Fitting into my bridesmaid dress, and looking fabulous for Megs at her wedding in May.
5. Less type, more talk. With all of my friends and family. (For lent I'm giving up TEXTING!!)

New Home Sweet Home!

At 27 I finally have a place that is all mine and only mine! Here are some photos of my new tiny little place! It's so cozy and i absolutely love it!
