Never lose hope!

Can't wait for some Home Sweet Home!

It seems to me that every time I go home to Tucson it always comes at just the right time. I couldn't be more excited to spend some time in Tucson with my Mom, Dad and Matt this weekend and then spend Easter in Phoenix with JD, Linds and the babe!!!

Added bonus that we are going to TJ's wedding!! Literally one of the best friends I had growing up and I'm just so excited for him! It's going to be a great weekend and it's coming at the perfect time for some much needed family TLC and relaxation.

Just breathe and Namaste!

About 3 weeks ago our lease came to an end and Randi and I moved out of our downtown place. Since I didn't have enough time to find a new place I moved back into my parent's condo temporarily and will be staying here until the beginning of May. While I am here, the majority of my belongings are in boxes in my parent's garage so I'm in "transition mode" and I don't always deal well with those uncertain types of situations.

However, I knew this going into the situation and decided that instead of letting it stress me out I would view it as a great opportunity to put a few months worth of rent into the bank while I find the perfect next place for me to reside, yahoo! Lots of support from Matt and a few hundred deep breaths later I am feeling better about my living situation and happy to be where I am for the moment.

I hadn't been feeling great about my body for a while. I had gained some weight, wasn't eating very well and was just not feeling healthy. I felt like I was stuck in a rut and couldn't get myself motivated to exercise more or eat healthier. I knew that I had to look at the move as a great time to transition into a new phase and let go of the rut I had been in, and my gut (literally my gut) lead me straight back to the Yoga studio for some TLC.

I am happy to say that I've been back at Yoga for the last 3 weeks and have been feeling absolutely A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!! It's incredible to me how invigorating and cleansing yoga is and I can't believe I took such a long hiatus from it. I am sleeping better, eating better, breathing more, and overall feeling healthier. The best part is the yoga studio is literally within walking distance of my parent's condo, so it's convenient to boot! While I know and understand that I will have to kick up my cardio and continue to clean up my diet in order to really see the results I am desiring, for now it's great to just be feeling better both inside and out. Today, I am grateful for yoga. NAMASTE!

Your best hair day yet!

My hair can be a bit of a beast to deal with in the mornings which is why I recently chopped 4 inches off of it and why I do not wash it every day. Any one who has curly or wavy hair who prefers to wear it straight most of the time understands my struggles. Over the years I've been on the search for the best products to simplify my routine and cut down on the amount of time I spend trying to tame my hair, and I think I've finally found a good groove! Follow my tips below for your best hair day ever!

1. Keep it trimmed. Get your hair trimmed regularly to keep it healthy and manageable. Even if you are trying to grow your hair out getting regular trims will help your hair grow faster.

2. Invest in a good blow dryer. This will help dry your hair faster and keep it from drying out in the process. I recommend a Turbo Solano Dryer, but there are plenty of good ones on the market, just look for 1875 watts. Also, be sure to use a filter with your blowdryer to ensure the heat is flowing in the right direction to reduce fly-aways.

3. Invest in a good round brush. If this isn't just as important as the dryer its more important. The majority of the styling component of your hair routine comes from your brush, so pick a good one. I recommend an Ibiza round brush because for my unruly hair its the only brush that's every allowed me to not have to finish off my blow dry remedy with a straightening iron. This brush will run you anywhere from $38-$50 but all I can say is that it's worth it. Try it and see! The brushes are available with free shipping on Amazon.

4. A little bit of product goes a long way. I used to think because I have so much hair that it meant I needed a lot of product, and would wonder why my hair would feel greasy by the end of the day. Use a small amount of product once your hair is already partially dry in order for it to make it the best impact. I like Bumble and Bumble's Straight Blow Dry Cream, and only have to use a dab about the size of an almond.

5. Divide and Conquer. On to the fun part! Divide your hair into sections, the smaller the better, and clip off as you go. Start with your front bangs first since those have the greatest tendency to get frizzy. Once you are done with the front move on to the hair closest to the nape of your neck and work your way up on both sides. Be sure to point the blow dryer from above, and keep the hair pulled tight on your brush. The more tension on the hair, the sleeker the result will be. Use your brush to create as much or as little volume as you desire, always keeping the nozzle of the blow dryer pointed down. The most important part of this whole process is to ensure that each section of your hair is completely dry before you move on. In order to remove all the frizz you must first remove all the moisture. Sounds simple right??

6. Almost done! Now that your hair is completely dry and looking fabulous add a VERY small amount of hair oil or serum, starting half way through your hair and concentrating on the ends. I'm a fan of Moroccan Oil, but be sure to use the smallest amount... a little too much can ruin anyone's hair day. Work this through the hair using your fingers and turn your head upside down with your dryer on the cool setting.

7. Last but not least... One last final touch with hair spray and your ready to take on the world! My favorite is Bumble and Bumble's Does it All Spray for maximum flexibility.

Bonus Round!! For those of you who don't wash your hair every day all you need is a little dry shampoo for tomorrow morning and you'll be good to go. I'm still on the hunt for the best Dry Shampoo, so stay tuned!

Craving a Country Councert...

This makes me want to go to a country concert so bad! I love getting dressed up in boots and dresses and tailgating with friends before the show. Think I will have to take a gander at the schedule and conjure up a group!

Stationary Staples

If you know me you know I love my personalized stationary! I just believe there is nothing better than receiving a hand written note in the mail every once in a while, so I do my part to write to the people I love often. For the last few years I've been on a Tiny Prints kick because they have great stationary options at great prices. See a few examples below.

A few of these might look familiar! They don't just do stationary though, they have great options for invitations, birth announcements, address labels and more. Check it out soon, or sign up for their emails to receive special offers. Last week I snagged a deal for 50% off personalized thank you cards! Can't wait to start sending them out.
