Home is where the Heart is

I've been in my new place for about 2 months now and I absolutely love it. Although "home" may not be the place that we spend the majority of our time (for me these days that would be at work) it is where our day usually begins and ends which can and should be the most peaceful and comforting parts of the day. That is exactly why it is so important that we feel comfortable in the place we settle into. Thanks to my amazing mother who has taught me so much about how to make a house feel like a home; I've been able to quickly transform my one bedroom beach cottage into a signature KLD abode. Every time I step through my door I feel a sense of peace come over me and I'm happy to be just where I am; home. With all the changes that have been going on in my life over the last year it literally is the perfect place for me right now; 550 square feet (which believe it or not is the largest place I've lived in on my own), close to work, an outdoor patio soon to be donned with market lights and outdoor furniture, and the added bonus of awesome neighbors and a nightly firework display (thank you Sea World). I've always lived by the motto "Mi Casa es su Casa" and this place has been allowing me to do what I love to do most with my friends; cook dinner for them and drink copious amounts of red wine together while we chat the night away. When Shannon came to visit from New York the first thing she said when she walked in was "You're not moving out of this place until a man drags you out of it." Now that's what I like to call a home sweet home.
A sneak peek to my very humble abode.

It wouldn't be a Dwyer household without some serious monogramming going on.

Welcome home!
